Fraud is the deliberate falsification of truth in order to take away a persons property or their legal right. The misrepresentation of fact can be through words or conduct. Fraud can also be the concealment of facts when they should be disclosed. This deceitfulness is generally a means to gain an advantage on behalf of the deceiver.
Fraud in connection with federally funded programs such as public housing, educational programs, and corporate funds is called Government Fraud. Government fraud may also be related to federal contracting. In terms of fraudulent contracting, cases often involve double billing, bribery in contracts, and false certification of parts or test results.
