Michigan Man Charged for Raping Teen He Met on Facebook

Michael Thomas Robinson, an 18 year old man, has been charged with the rape of a teenager that he met on Facebook, a popular social networking website.  Robinson is from the Detroit area and was arrested by local law enforcement.

On December 11th, Robinson was arraigned on two counts of first degree criminal sexual conduct and one count of first degree home invasion.

Law enforcement claim that Robinson had exchanged messages with the victim, a 16 year old girl from Clinton Township.  Clinton Township is approximately 15 miles northeast of Detroit.  Police also claim that Robinson met the victim at least once in her home before December 4th, the date the sex crime was committed.  They say that Robinson attacked the girl when she refused to let him in.  He managed to break into the house by crawling through a window.

At this time, Robinson is being held on a $750,000 bond in Macomb County Jail and he is pending a preliminary hearing on December 22nd.  He has asked for representation from a court appointed attorney.
