Police Investigation Washington D.C. Christmas Robberies

In Washington D.C., police are investigating 5 robberies that took place within a 90 minute period in the Northwest region.  Police report that residents in the area were very alarmed after the theft crimes occurred and that the robbers were extremely quick in carrying out their offenses.

According to police, the 5 muggings occurred in Georgetown, Tenleytown, Glover Park, and Cleveland Park.  All the robberies happened between 7:50 PM and 9:15 PM.  One of the victims, Jonathan Fee, was on his way home after dropping off presents at his neighbor's house when he noticed one of his attackers approaching him.

"I passed them actually and I said hello," Fee recalled. "I didn't think anything of them."

After he innocuously greeted the attackers, they reached for him, grabbed both of his arms behind his back, and began to steal from him.  They took Fee's wallet, cell phone, and his scarf.  Fee was only the first victim, was the three attackers went onto their second victim only a few blocks away.

Police say that not even an hour after the first initial robbery, the three men had committed their 4th mugging on 25th Street.  Their final victim was robbed by them on 28th Street.  The victim was on her cell phone emerging from her car when the men robbed her.   The woman told police that the men had flashed a gun at her, but never used it.

The thieves managed to steal the wallets, cell phones and scarves of all 5 of their victims.

Police are still on the lookout for the robbery suspects at this time.
