Texas Man Pleads Guilty to Identity Theft and Credit Card Fraud Charges

In Odessa, Texas a 50 year old man by the name of Dennis Heldt pleaded guilty to both identity theft and credit card fraud.  This past Tuesday, in Federal Court, Mr. Heldt admitted to stealing numerous credit cards over a 15 month period that started back in April of 2007.

Mr. Heldt told the judge presiding over his case that he had broken into a total of 26 cars throughout Midland, Odessa and Amarillo.  He would break into the cars to steal credit cards from car owners. 

Dennis Heldt is scheduled to be sentenced in December.  He is facing 20 years in federal prison along with various other legal penalties.
