24 Year Old Carjacking Suspect is Arrested in Oxnard

This past Sunday, police reported that they arrested a 24 year old carjacking suspect in Oxnard, California named Daniel Alfaro.

Alfaro was accused of carjacking a teenager before police apprehended him.  According to police, the 17 year old victim had told them that he was inside of his vehicle near Fiesta Liquor in Oxnard when a man approached him and demanded money.  The teen refused to give into the man's demands so the man pulled out a gun.  The teenage victim got out of his car fearing that he would be shot and killed.  That is when Alfaro entered the victim's vehicle and drove away.

The teen's car was later spotted by an Oxnard police sergeant.  When the police tried to confront Alfaro, he drove off and then stopped the car and went into a residence on Vegas Drive.  Once the Alfaro entered the home, several other people exited the house, but he remained inside.  Police surrounded the house, but Alfaro refused to come out, so officers called the Oxnard SWAT team and K-9 team to the scene.

Shortly after, Daniel Alfaro was arrested with the help of a police dog.  He is currently being held in the Ventura County Jail on suspicion of carjacking and making criminal threats and as he was unable to pay his $410,000 bail.
