New York Police Charge 18 Year Old with Burglary

In Ramapo, New York, police recently charged an 18 year old male with burglary and are still looking for a second man who is accused of stealing a safe that was filled with both cash and jewelry.

Abraham Simon was charged with second degree burglary after he entered a house on Hammond Avenue and stole a safe.  Police were able to find Simon after reviewing surveillance footage captured by the victim's neighbor.   Officers found and arrested Simon on Thursday at 11:30 AM.

At this time, police are working with leaders of the religious community to find the Simon's accomplice. 

Officer Weidel spoke on behalf of the police department, saying, "We know who the second individual is."  He also said, "We've spoken with leaders of the religious community. We told them if they saw him, they should urge him to surrender."

Simon was released from jail after posting $10,000 bail set by Judge Arnold Etelson.
