Mother & Son Charged With Theft of $50,000

In Lockport, New York, 68 year old Diane M. McNamara and her son, 35 year old Bradley K. McNamara were recently charged with theft crimes.  This past Tuesday, the mother and son were arraigned in Niagara County Court.  They were charged with criminal offenses after allegedly stealing more than $50,000 from the mother's ex-husband.

The mother pled not guilty to 2nd and 3rd degree grand larceny.  Her son also pled guilty to six counts of 3rd degree grand larceny and one 2nd degree count of grand larceny.  Both live on Division Street in North Tonawanda.

Accord to Brian D. Seaman, the Assistant District Attorney, the son had the power of attorney for his father, Richard McNamara.  Bradley had power of attorney from the years 2004 until 2007.  During that time span, the son wrote fraudulent checks to his mother.  She would then illegally withdraw funds from the father's bank account.

Both mother and son stand to face jail time, fines and court fees if they are convicted.
