New Jersey Police Make Huge Drug Bust

In Millville, New Jersey, police investigators made a significant crack in local drug trade operations.   According to local law enforcement and prosecutors, investigators were able to arrest 37 year old Anthony DeJesus last Wednesday.  DeJesus was arrested and charged with multiple drug offenses after he intercepted a package that was scheduled for delivery to his residence.  Police report that the package sent to DeJesus' home contained drugs that had a street value of $152, 400.

Prior to being charged for recent drug crimes, DeJesus has served time for manslaughter and was also believed to be a member of the Latin Kings gang.  He was caught after a United States Postal inspector tipped off the police department that a package from Puerto Rico was expected to be delivered to DeJesus' home.  The package was flagged by a narcotics sniffing dog at the post office's screening center.   The package was 14 by 14 inches and contained approximately 2.4 pounds of cocaine.

DeJesus was arrested in his home after the package was delivered.  Following the delivery, police searched his home and a storage garage that he rented.  During the search, police found that DeJesus was in possession of 51 grams of marijuana, a 44-caliber handgun and $22,000 in cash.

He was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession with intent to distribute, possession with intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of a school zone, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.  He was placed in the Cumberland County Jail with bail set at $500,000.
