Raiders Coach Could Be Charged With Assault

Raiders head Coach Tom Cable could soon face criminal charges for assaulting assistant coach Randy Hanson, an incident that took place earlier this year.

The charges against Cable could lead to his suspension from the National Football League.

Napa Valley police Commander Andy Lewis refused to discuss the case, but Hanson told police that Cable assaulted him on August 5 during training camp.

Hanson's attorney, John McGuinn, said three other coaches witnessed the attack that left Hanson with a broken jaw, and that this case is a textbook example of felony assault.

If Hanson is arrested, he could face suspension from the NFL for violating personal conduct policy.

It is unclear as to whether or not Hanson will take legal action against Cable in a civil lawsuit.
