Teacher Faces Felony Charges for Teaching While Intoxicated

A middle school teacher in Southern California has been arrested on felony charges for teaching while under the influence of alcohol and prescription drugs.

KABC-TV reports that the teacher, 47-year-old Tanya Neff, began exhibiting signs of intoxication around lunchtime. Sheriff's deputies were called, and by the time they arrived at the school Neff was being treated by the school nurse in the administration building, away from the students. Investigators suspect Neff took prescription drugs in combination with alcohol. They also found a container filled with alcohol on the school campus.

Neff was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment, and then taken into custody. She was booked on felony child endangerment.
