North Hollywood Man Placed Under Arrest for Sexual Charges

North Hollywood police have arrested a man on sexual charges and believe him to be a perpetrator of additional crimes as well. Louis Mercado, 19, was arrested last March for allegedly assaulting a 37-year-old woman sexually. She was walking in the 6900 block of Lankershim Boulevard when he grabbed her, pulling her into a nearby parking lot where he proceeded to sexually assault her.

Due to the nature of the crime, police also suspect Mercado of committing similar sex crimes in the area, specifically around Lankershim Boulevard Corridor.
