Arrests Made in Two Year Old Hit and Run Case

This week, two men have been arrested for their roles in a two year old hit and run case.  The two men were wanted for causing a hit and run accident that led to the death of a 69 year old woman from San Jose.

In August of 2008, Maria Dolores Acosta de Reyes was involved in an accident on East Santa Clara and 7th Streets.  The accident led to her tragic death.  On Monday, police were finally able to arrest the hit and run suspects. 46 year old Manuel Ramirez Ramos and 50 year old Juan Ahumada Solorzano were both formally charged.

Ramos was accused of driving the SUV that caused the collision and Solorzano was his passenger at the time. Instead of stopping to check on de Reyes, the pair drove off and left her to die.  Police say that the woman had died upon impact.

If you have been charged with a criminal offense, such as hit and run, now is the time to discuss your case with a criminal defense attorney.
