2 Arrested in Georgia for Pot Possession in Connection With Robbery Investigation

The hard work of the Gwinnett County Police Crime Suppression Unit paid off with the arrest of two Lawrenceville-area residents.

Investigators had been staking out a vehicle of interest in connection with a home invasion robbery when they were alerted to the vehicle's whereabouts. Upon locating the vehicle, the officers conducted a felony stop. They arrested the driver and the passenger and then went to the driver's apartment to investigate further. At the apartment, a woman opened the door who gave the officers permission to conduct a search. The search resulted in the seizure of more than six pounds of marijuana.

Both the driver of the vehicle, Joselyn Rodriquez, and the woman who answered the door at the apartment, Lucy Cabral, were arrested and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. Both are still being held in police custody. The investigation into the home invasion robbery still continues, and depending on the outcome of that investigation, Rodriquez and Cabral could face additional charges as well.
