A former Mapleton City, Utah recorder has been sentenced in a theft case that she pleaded guilty in. She pleaded guilty to taking city gift cards and postage stamps and selling them on eBay. Jeannie Kay Bell has now been sentenced to 90 days in jail for her guilty plea to one count of second-degree felony theft. Bell got credit for 35 days spent in jail and the rest can be served through GPS monitoring. She will also pay nearly $33,000 in restitution to the city.
