Man Arrested for Attempted Murder of Pregnant Woman

In Polk County, police say that they finally arrested a man who officers blame for a 20 year reign of terror.  The man, 37-year-old Terry Lee Thomas, stands accused of shooting a woman who is four months pregnant.  At this time, he is being held in a local jail on charges of attempted murder and other violent offenses.

On October 30th, the victim was sitting in a parked car when someone shot her five times.  After the shooting, the victim and her unborn child were listed in critical but stable condition at Lakeland Regional Medical Center.

On Saturday, after an investigation by local law enforcement, Thomas was placed under arrest.  Before his recent arrest, he was free on bond after being apprehended by authorities on October 11th on suspicion of aggravated battery.  Police say that Thomas has been in the local jail 33 times in the past 20 years on charges that include kidnapping, battery, ground theft, possession of bomb making devices and armed robbery.
