High Speed Chase Suspect Shot by Police

A brief high-speed pursuit was ended when the suspect was shot by sheriff's deputies in East Los Angeles. The suspect had been charged with suspicion of assault on an officer.

According to Deputy Diana De Leon with the East Los Angeles Sheriff's Office, the shooting occurred near Sunol Drive and Olympic Boulevard around 8:30 p.m. She reported that the suspect had been taken to the hospital but his condition was still unknown. Luckily no deputies were hurt during the altercation.

If you have recently been arrested on assault charges, you could be facing months to years in jail, in addition to fines, community service and other penalties. Instead of trying to navigate through the legal system on your own, it is advised that you take the time to speak with and hire a criminal defense attorney.  When you hire a lawyer, you will have a better understanding of your legal rights and options.
