High School Shooting Ends in Arrest

Another high school shooting ends with tragedy, this time at Gardena High School in Los Angeles County.

Police were called in when reports of a gunmen holding students hostage came over the radios. A teacher was able to call 911 to alert police of the hostage situation around 1:41 p.m. Police were able to act quickly and take the suspect into custody about an hour later.  The young man, dressed in all black, was finally subdued after he had released the hostages from the room where he was holding them.

At this time the police are not releasing details of this crime, only that three victims were taken to the hospital, although their identities and physical condition have yet to be released. The suspect is believed to be a student at the school; he is 18 years old and has been identified by the police, although they are releasing his identity either.
