USPS Worker Arrested for Mail Theft and Drug Possession

Michelle Ann Necessary, who has worked for the USPS for ten years, now faces charges of mail theft and drug possession. She went before a judge at the U.S. District Court in Greeneville with five counts of mail theft and two counts of simple possession of a controlled substance; Necessary plead guilty to one count of each charge at that time.

Since she did plead guilty to part of her crimes Necessary will have the remaining charges dropped when she goes to her sentencing hearing on April 25. She could face a $250,000 fine as well as up to five years in prison for the mail theft charge; the possession charges could bring her an additional year in prison and $100,000 in fines.

Necessary was discovered to be breaking into and stealing prescription drugs from those people who lived along her mail route.

If someone you care about has recently been arrested on drug possession charges, you need to hire a criminal defense attorney now.
