Chicago Police Find Thousands of Pot Plants in the City

In the search to eliminate illegal drug use in Chicago, the police were shocked when they found marijuana plants hiding in the metropolis. According to the police report, a host of marijuana plants that were over 6 feet tall were discovered in a discreet field that was about the size of two football fields. The plans were ready for harvest, but were usurped by the police when they noticed the field from their helicopter on the way back to the landing pad after a search. The police department says that the plants constitute the largest marijuana farm that they can remember on record. The growers probably could have earned about $10 million if they had sold all of their produce. The police department arrived in the field early this morning to cop down the plants, assuming that there may have been as many as 2,000 separate plants.

No arrests have been made yet in connection with the farm, but the police are still trying to determine who owns the property that housed the growth site. The police say that they hope that there will be informants that can provide them with tips about those involved. They saw a man running from the area the day of their discovery when they swooped the helicopter low to determine that they really were looking at a marijuana plant. The police say that the growers certainly put a lot of thought into their operation, but they didn’t realize that the helicopter could find them out. The plant was shaded and guarded by a surrounding grove of trees, so it was out of sight. If the growers are caught, they could face up to a lifetime in prison for possessing such a high amount of the dangerous drug. Talk to a criminal defense attorney today if you have been caught in possession of marijuana and are facing charges in a criminal court.
