Miranda Barbour Claims She's a Serial Killer While Awaiting Trial for Murder

Famed Craigslist killer Miranda Barbour, currently headed for trial for one murder, has been claiming from her jail cell that there were several more victims of her rampage, and a couple of men escaped a deadly fate, as reported by The Daily Item, CBS News and other media outlets.

Barbour, 19, said that two other men failed to show up for her offer of female companionship before she successfully lured and killed victim T.L., 42.

From her jail cell Barbour said, "I tried it a few times but it never worked out. I knew we were going to do this since the day we met, and we tried, but the others just didn't show up."

Barbour, along with her husband Elytte Barbour, 22, are awaiting trial for the November 11 murder of T.L. According to police reports Barbour enticed T.L. with the promise of romance via a Craigslist advertisement, only to strangle and stab him to death with the help of her husband.

On February 14 Barbour had her first jail cell interview. In that meeting she claimed to have committed at least 22 more murders across the country in the past six years. She said that her motive in the murders was her satanic cult beliefs.

In another interview Barbour recounted the same claims as before, however, this time she added that she was ready to tell where the crimes had occurred; mentioning that her activities took her from Big Lake, Alaska to Mexico Beach, Florida, and to Raleigh, North Carolina. Barbour said, "I said before I would talk to them (FBI) about all of this, but they never came to see me."

Investigators in all three areas are looking into Barbour's allegations, and reported that there were no unsolved homicides.

Barbour countered the investigators by stating, "They are looking for full bodies. They won't find any. But they will find body parts" of "bad people."

According to the police T.L. was murdered during the Barbour's three-week wedding anniversary and Elytte Barbour's 22nd birthday. T.L.'s body was located in Sunbury, off Catawissa Avenue, in an alleyway.

Following Barbour's confessions her sister, A.D., came forward. A.D. told reporters that Barbour is a "master at lying" and likening herself to a male version of the killer/hero in the television serial drama "Dexter."

A.D. said that her sister and her husband were fans of the show, whose main character is a vigilante that kills "bad people." A.D. added, "If you listen to what she is saying, she is using descriptions from the show. Miranda is just saying these things."

Barbour had explained to reporters she only killed the type of people that "did bad things and didn't deserve to be here anymore."

Barbour's father, S.D., has also told reporters that his daughter was addicted to heroin, is a liar and a manipulator. However, he stopped short of believing her to be a murderer.

Whatever crime(s) you are charged with, your first step is to contact a criminal defense attorney and begin working on your case. As the prosecution is mounting their case, you must also be ready.
