Man Sought By Police In Connection With Two Violent Deaths

After discovering the location of a wanted fugitive, a task force of law enforcement agents attempted to apprehend the suspect. When the man raised a weapon at them, they claim, he was fatally shot in the ensuing confrontation.

The victims were two Fort Myers natives believed to have been slain by the fugitive. One, a fifty-five year old woman from Three Oaks, was found by her boyfriend in their home with her throat cut open. Investigators are still unsure of all the details of the robbery-turned-homicide, but they believed the suspect, BRR, was involved, along with another man arrested several months prior to the shooting. After her July 24th death, police say they have been attempting to locate BRR to take him into custody.

Authorities say they were tipped off to his location when they received a tip from a witness through the Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers hotline. They had discovered the body of his second alleged victim, a sixty-one year old man, in a home near Pineapple Palm Drive in the Sabal Springs Golf and Racquet Club, leading them to believe he was nearby.

Confrontation Leads To Death Of Alleged Murderer

Thanks to the anonymous tip, investigators began to search the area, finally locating and identifying BRR sitting by a window inside a home in the 1200 block of Laurel Drive. A Task Force made up of members of the Fort Myer's Police Department, several local Sheriff's Departments, as well as members of the U.S. Marshals had been tracking him for months.

Task Force members surrounded the house and began to approach, attempting to apprehend the suspect. According to the police report, the suspect brandished a weapon and pointed it at the approaching enforcement agents. At this point, several officers opened fire on BRR, striking him multiple times and causing fatal injury. No police were injured in the altercation.
