The pretrial hearings are now resuming in the case of an Army private that has been charged with 22 counts in regard to leaking military information to the controversial WikiLeaks. Pfc. Bradley Manning deferred entering a plea or if he wanted a military judge or jury to hear his case after his Article 32 hearing in late February. The recent hearing involved arguments about whether or not access to some of Bradley's emails while he was in a Quantico brig can be granted as part of the proceedings. Additional arguments between the defense and prosecution pertained to including any instances of Bradley's prior misconduct. The case involves what military prosecutors are calling the largest classified document leak in United States history. From an Article 32 hearing to Court Martial, make sure you have a highly knowledgeable military criminal defense lawyer on your side!

Private Could Receive Life Sentence

Pfc. Bradley could spend the rest of his life behind bars if his case goes to trial and a conviction is obtained. The 22 counts that he is charged with include accusations of theft of public property, wrongfully causing intelligence to be published on the internet and aiding the enemy. According to military prosecutors, Pfc. Bradley allegedly downloaded thousands of military files and gave them over to Wikileaks while he was an analyst serving in Iraq. Prosecutors were also attempting to show that there were web chats and emails between the private and Julian Assange, WikiLeaks' founder.
