Tashaun Jones has been charged with aggravated robbery, felonious assault with a deadly weapon, carrying a concealed weapon and underage purchase of a firearm. Jones has been undergoing treatment at Miami Valley Hospital for three gunshot wounds he sustained during the altercation on Wednesday.

According to Dayton Police, Jones fired at two officers during an undercover pizza delivery robbery sting. Everything began after an order was made to a Donatos on Main Street. The employees at the pizza shop called the Dayton Police Department after they recognized the number that called in an order, it was the same number used earlier in a previous pizza delivery robbery.

An officer, dressed in plain clothes, driving in an unmarked car approached the suspect's location in the 1500 block of Superior Avenue to deliver pizza. The suspect, Tashaun Jones opened fire at the undercover officer with a semi-automatic weapon. The officer said that Jones then ran and was subsequently shot three times by officers at the scene. Fortunately, neither of the officers sustained any injuries.

Weapons Charges Involve Serious Consequences
