Man Lies about Identity to Police, Receives Traffic Tickets

Police pulled over a man driving a car in a manner that indicated drunk driving. His car, travelling westbound, drifted across the double yellow line briefly into the eastbound lane. The driver complied with the police's order to pull over and was stopped near a local intersection. When police asked for his I.D. he said he didn't have it with him and told the officer a false name and age. He was taken into custody under the charges of failure to drive on the right and driving without a license. If you have been charged or arrested for an offense in southwestern Connecticut, contact a Danbury criminal defense attorney right away.

Driver Caught Giving Police False I.D. after Traffic Offense

Once taken into custody and finger printed, police discovered that the man alleging to be a 22-year-old with a different name had lied about his identity. FBI information connected to the fingerprints showed that he was in fact a 32-year-old man from out of state with a suspended driving permit. Additional charges of interfering with an officer were added to his booking.
