A 25-year-old man will be back in police custody once he is released from the hospital. The man, G.L., is recovering from injuries sustained in a vehicle crash when he was reportedly running from police in Mesa. The series of events began when a teen returned to her home in Chandler at about 12:30 in the afternoon. The 17-year-old girl entered her house and found that a man had broken into the residence. The man ran out of the house and got into a car nearby. The teen reported the incident to the police and gave them a description of the man and the car that he drove off in. About 20 minutes later, officers in a cruiser spotted a vehicle that matched the description of the burglar's car. They attempted to perform a traffic stop. The car stopped at first but then sped off towards Mesa. Mesa police were notified and joined in the pursuit of the suspected burglar. Officers followed the car until it was involved in a collision near Alma School Road and Pecos Road about 10 minutes later. The suspect attempted to run away from the scene of the accident but was apprehended by a Mesa police officer and taken into custody. G.L. was then transported to the hospital for treatment of injuries from the car crash. Two people that were in the car G.L. crashed into were also transported to the hospital due to accident injuries. Have you been accused of burglary? About Burglary Charges

Burglary is a felony offense in Arizona punishable by up to 20 years in prison. Entering a house or other type of residence with the intent to commit theft is a second degree felony. If the suspect is accused of burglarizing a home or non-residential building while having a firearm or other weapon in his or her possession then the charge is a much more serious first degree felony.
