Three Men Tie Up Family And Beat Victim With Pistol
Police are making headway on an assault and theft case that occurred recently in Allen, having arrested one suspect they believe to be responsible for the brutal robbery, reports the Allen American.
The incident is alleged to have occurred on the morning of Wednesday, April 20th. The police investigation is still ongoing, but a few current facts have been established. According to the official police report, the victim is an Allen resident, who was brutally beaten over the head with the butt of a pistol by three suspects. The altercation is alleged to have occurred outside the home of the victim, in the 1000 block of Sandy Trail.
The suspects escaped from the scene of the crime in a nearby vehicle, which police believe to be the property of one of the victim’s relatives. This get-away car was later found abandoned just three blocks away from the scene of the assault. In addition to beating the man, his wife and daughter were tied up.
Search Continues For Two Other Suspected Assailants
Law enforcement officials began investigating the case immediately, leading to the quick arrest a day later of a 28-year old man believed to have been one the attackers. A team of officers from the U.S. Marshal Service, the Texas Department of Safety, and the Allen Police Department Narcotics Unit worked together to make the arrest.
The suspect was discovered along with several items implicating his guilt in the crime. In his possession was a 45. Caliber pistol of the type used to beat the victim, bloodstained clothing, and duct-tape and zip ties, all of which police believe tie him to the scene of the crime.
Police also found 40 lbs of marijuana at the scene. Officers currently suspect that drug activity was the primary motivation behind the crime.
