School Administrator Charged with Sex Crimes

By Prime & O’Brien, LLP  Apr. 9, 2013 9:00a

A 45 year-old school administrator in southern California was recently arrested for engaging in sexual activity with three boys who attended the school where she worked. The woman, E. H., was an assistant principal at Tahquitz High School in Hemet, California. She was charged with sexual battery, oral copulation, and sending harmful / inappropriate text or images via an electronic device to a minor. The latter charge is known as "sexting." She faces 12 felony charges. Apparently, a parent at the school alerted police investigators to the woman's alleged activities.

According to investigators, the sexual activity occurred off school grounds over a period of months. The underage boys who were involved either were or still are students at the school. The woman was placed on leave from the school in March when the allegations surfaced. She currently is being held in lieu of $1 million bail. The woman, who is married, began seeing the boys in September and continued her relationships until the investigation into her activities began. In a related incident, another married California teacher was charged and sentenced for nine felony counts of having unlawful sex with one of her students in March. The woman was an agriculture teacher who had a year-long affair with a 15 year-old boy she was supposed to be mentoring under the Future Farmers of America program.
