Couple Lives In Hiding On West Coast For Over A Decade

A man alleged to be a former head of the Irish crime syndicate in Boston has been arrested by federal agents and is expected to face trial soon for his extensive crimes.

The man is charged with an extensive laundry list of crimes that he supposedly committed during his stint as a boss in a major Boston crime family. Appearing initially in a federal court in Los Angeles, the couple is now expected to be moved back to the east coast to continue their trial. He has been officially charged with conspiracy to commit murder, racketeering, extortion, money laundering, and drug trafficking. FBI Discovers Fugitive In Santa Monica

According to a report released by federal agents, the investigation gained renewed vigor when agents were tipped off to a potential lead in California. Looking into the possibility, the FBI discovered the couple living in a rent-controlled apartment in Santa Monica, not far from the ocean.

Speaking to the landlord, agents learned that the man and his girlfriend had lived there for fourteen years, during which time they had made every monthly rent payment in cash. Despite this, the landlord said, they were a generally unassuming couple that had never drawn attention or done anything particularly out of the ordinary.

Federal officers managed to lure the alleged mob boss from the apartment during a sting operation and placed him under arrest without violence.
