Policeman Caught Shoplifting Harry Potter Themed Items

By Robert Franklin  Dec. 14, 2010 10:10a

Several months ago, a Pittsburgh police officer attempted to steal over $300 worth of Harry Potter themed items from the Universal Orlando Resort while he was on vacation with his family. The 49-year-old officer Henry Rogowski was charged with shoplifting after an employee in the gift shop saw him shoplift photo albums, bookmarks and a keychain.

The officer admitted to stealing the items when confronted and stated that the registers were all busy and he did not want to wait. Officer Rogowski posted bail of $1,000 the following Monday. According to the Pittsburgh Police Chief, Rogowski who was a seventeen year veteran on the force was to face internal punishment. The law applies even to police officers.
