Man Allegedly Fired At Girlfriends House With Automatic Weapon

Police claim that they have taken the man responsible for firing an assault rifle and crashing into several vehicles while intoxicated into custody.

The incident is alleged to have taken place in the late evening on Sunday, October 30th. Law enforcement officials told journalists that they received a panicked call from a woman reporting an assault by her boyfriend. She said that the 24-year old man had become heavily intoxicated and begun making threats of causing himself harm. When she called a crisis hotline and later his parents in an attempt to calm him down, he became extremely agitated, eventually attacking the woman.

Police responded quickly, arriving at her home to examine the scene. They left not long afterwards, advising the woman to contact them should he return.

Police Charge Suspect With Multiple Offenses

After authorities left, the boyfriend did indeed return to her home, this time with an assault rifle. After she refused to answer the door, he shot multiple rounds into his girlfriend's house before attempting to flee the scene in his car, a black Camaro. He collided with several vehicles parked nearby, including the next-door neighbor's PT Cruiser, before speeding away.

As the neighbor was outside taking pictures of the damage to his car, he says the suspect returned once more with his rifle. The neighbor was able to convince the young man to unload the weapon and calm down. Authorities arrived shortly thereafter and placed him under arrest.

Police found more weapons at the suspect's residence, including several guns and multiple knives. In addition to the charge of attempted first-degree murder, officials say they are charging the man with reckless endangerment, possession of a handgun while under the influence, vandalism and malicious mischief, and leaving the scene of a crime. If convicted of all charges, he could be facing an extensive prison sentence.
