A former New York City basketball coach was found guilty of molesting a teenager while on a trip to Boston, to see a Red Sox-Yankees doubleheader.

The coach, resigned as basketball coach at the Catholic high school where he worked, after allegations of sexual abuse surfaced last year. He was looking at serving two life sentences, if he was convicted on two counts of raping a child, however, under an agreement with the Suffolk District Attorney, he pled guilty to rape and disseminating pornography, in exchange for five years of probation. During which time, he will have to wear a monitor on his ankle which will track his movements. The coach also promised he would never coach children again.

In an emotional and dramatic statement, the victim said that he lost his childhood to the coach. The victim said that he was molested more than 100 times by the coach in multiple Northeastern states in the 1970's, while growing up as a teenage boy in Queens. If you have been accused of a child sex crime, rape, or any other sex crime, it's crucial that you contact a Boston criminal defense attorney right away.

The victim's attorney said that he has filed a $20 million dollar civil lawsuit against the Catholic diocese that oversees the high school where the boy attended school, and several other Catholic organizations. The attorney is seeking information, whether or not, there have been other sexual abuse complaints against the football coach that were ignored.
