Can a Trial Proceed if a Victim Does Not Testify?

In the following video, I will discuss whether a criminal trial can take place in the absence of a victim. It is often misunderstood that the case must be dropped if the victim does not appear in court to testify. However, there are certain situations where the State can still move forward with the trial and secure a conviction even without the victim's testimony. The decision to dismiss the case is based on whether the Rules of Evidence and Confrontation Clause are applicable.
