Man Accused Of Masturbating In Front Of Young Children And Grandmother

The defendant entered a not guilty plea last April at his arraignment, the Orange County Register reports.

The man, a 45-year old resident of Santa Ana, is accused of breaking into a home in Stanton and exposing himself to an elderly woman and her two granddaughters. The charges leveled against the suspect are first-degree residential burglary of an inhabited dwelling, indecent exposure, child annoyance after trespass, and aggravated assault. If convicted on all counts, he could be sentenced to up to 9 years in a state prison.

According to the police report, the suspect is alleged to have entered the home in Stanton on a Friday evening in early April. He used a tool to force open the front door of the grandmother’s house, then walked inside. He found two prepubescent girls, 7 and 9 years old, watching television. They screamed in terror as he walked past them into a bathroom inside the house.

Suspect Drops Pants, Then Punches Woman

The loud yelling alerted the grandmother to the intrusion. She is the caretaker for the children, and is partially paralyzed due to a recent stroke, resulting in limited mobility and mild speech impairment. The 59-year old woman came out of her bedroom and saw the intruder. She yelled at him to leave their home, at which point the man is accused of turning to face the woman and the two girls, pulling down his pants, and masturbating. This caused all three of the victims to scream loudly, which seemed to anger the suspect. He assaulted the elderly woman, punching her repeatedly in the groin, and then turned and ran out of the house.

He was apprehended shortly after the incident by Orange County sheriff’s deputies.
