The Santa Ana police have arrested a 28 year old man for attempted kidnapping of a school girl. The man identified as Moises Rendon, a husband and a father, has been charged with attempted kidnapping. His accomplice, who is yet to be identified got away. A kidnapping occurs when a person either secretly confines the victim against his or her will or transports the victim from one place to another by force, threat of force or deceit with the intent to secretly confine the victim against his or her will.

The incident occurred around 8:30 am on April 25. The victim, a 15 year old, was on her way to the Valley High School when Rendon who was waiting in a parked red Toytoa Corolla along with his accomplice got out of the car and approached her. The victim in her statement to the police said that he was wearing gloves and held a rag in his hand. He tried to reach her face with the hand that had the rag in it. The police suspect that the rag may have contained some chemical to subdue the victim. She managed to break away and although shaken started, screaming. That's when a neighbor took her into his house for safety. The man's wife immediately called the police and described the vehicle and suspect.

As soon as the victim broke away and ran into the neighbor's house, Rendon jumped back into the car while his accomplice stepped on the gas. A witness followed the car to Rendon's residence. Rendon was later arrested by the police from his residence, which is just two blocks from the point of attempted kidnapping. The victim later identified Rendon as the creeper. A witness also identified Rendon.

There are two elementary schools and a middle school located within a one mile radius of the place where the incident occurred. The authorities have notified parents in the area while the schools have alerted parents and students. Children in the area have been asked to take precautions and remain alert. Many children in the area have now stopped going out at night unless they are accompanied by someone else.

The police are on the look out for Rendon's accomplice who drove the red Toyota Corolla. The car is said to have a spoiler on the trunk. The Santa Ana Police Department has requested people with information about this car to come forward and contact them.
