Suspect Puts up Fight after Police Chase

By Law Offices of Okabe & Haushalter October 23, 2013

A Las Vegas man is facing a variety of charges after refusing to pull over for police and then resisting arrest. The whole thing began when a Metro detective observed a vehicle driving erratically on a street near Rancho Boulevard and I-95. The detective saw the vehicle swerving and crossing multiple lanes at about 12:30 in the afternoon. He turned on the emergency lights and siren on his unmarked patrol car and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. The driver of the vehicle allegedly ignored the lights and refused to pull over. The vehicle proceeded to travel through the area, swerving across lanes and performing a number of U-turns. A police helicopter and additional units were alerted to the situation and joined in the pursuit. Officers were able to bring the vehicle to a stop about 15 minutes later and attempted to take the single male occupant of the car into custody. The man was reportedly arguing and struggling with police until he was finally placed into the back of one of the police cruisers at the scene. Arrest reports state that once in the back of the patrol car he continued to be agitated and kicked out one of the car's windows. Reports do not state if any tests for intoxication were conducted or if DUI was suspected. Have you been arrested in Las Vegas? Talk to a criminal defense attorney that knows how to get results!
