Manhattan Attorney & Wife Charged with Prostitution

A Manhattan attorney and his wife were indicted on prostitution charges. Louis Posner and his wife, Betty Posner, operated an exotic dance club called the Hot Lap Dance Club at the corner of 38 th Street and Eighth Avenue.  Customers could have sex with dancers in private rooms for a price ranging from $200 to $5,000. The Manhattan district attorney's office charged both Posner and his wife with 20 counts of criminal charges.

The allegations came after a year-long investigation into the inner workings of the club.  Eight undercover police officers involved in the investigation were offered sex for money by eight different dancers.

The district attorney's office also stated that Mr. Posner falsified business records in order to maintain the club.

Both defendants have been arraigned and plead "not guilty" to the charges.  They will next appear in court on October 23.

Mr. Posner is an attorney in private practice.
