3 Teens Face Arson Charges in State of Iowa

In Emmetsburg, Iowa, three teenagers are facing arson charges.  The juveniles are expected to be held responsible for a series of fires that occurred at vacant farms over the past two years.  The farms were located in West Bend Township near the Pocahontas County Line. 

According to the Palo Alto County Sheriff's Office, the three teens are being accused of starting 13 fires since 2007.  The most recent arson occurred in July of this year.  The fires have caused the community substantial money.  It is estimated that the fires led to $250,000 in damage to the farm houses, nearby buildings, vehicles and also equipment.  

This past Monday, Iowa law enforcement arrested the three teens:  19 year old Lucas Ezarski, 17 year old Mason Hoffman and 18 year old Jacob Firkins.  The teens' charges ranged from second-degree arson and fifth-degree theft.  All of the teenagers are residents of Emmetsburg, IA.
