U30 Bandit Pleads Guilty

Dimitri Long, 33, also known as the "U30 Bandit", changed his plea to guilty this week for his role in an attempted robbery. In front of Judge Douglas Woodlock of a Massachusetts U.S. District Court Long pled guilty to eight counts of Information of Armed Bank Robbery. This is in relation to his attempted robbery of the Bank of America at 35th Washington Street on April 24, 2009.

A string of theft crimes during the spring and summer of 2009 have now been accounted for by Long, who admits to being the masked U30 bandit who could rob a bank in under thirty seconds. He was able to hit banks - with an accomplice - in Needham, Newton, Wellesley, Dedham, and Walpole.

Both men were arrested after their robbery of the Sovereign Bank in Needham Heights last July. Long's accomplice, 46-year-old Michael Coty, was given a sentence of 60 months in jail for committing three armed robberies in June. These include the Bank of America in Wellesley, the Sharon Credit Union in Walpole, and the Sovereign Bank in Needham.

If you have been charged with a crime it is in your best interest to hire a criminal defense lawyer.
