Connecticut Superintendent Arraigned on Sexual Assault Charges

Milford, Connecticut - earlier this week, Milford County's superintendent of schools was arraigned after being charged with sexual assault. Harvey Polansky was charged with sex crimes after two female school principals alleged that he had touched them inappropriately.

On Tuesday, during his appearance at the Milford Superior Court, he did not enter any pleas. However, he did say that he would resign his position as Superintendent on June 30th. He is expected to appear in court again on February 25, 2010.

Polansky's wife refused to issue comments to news sources. However, his defense lawyer said that Polansky will plead not guilty to two counts of fourth-degree sexual assault and two counts of breach of peace.

Charges were brought against Polansky after the two principals told the state Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities that he kissed them on their lips several times, hugged them and also touched their buttocks. According to the state complaints, Polansky admitted to behaving inappropriately.
