Los Angeles Hair Band Rocker Charged with Second DUI in a Year

Jani Lane, 46, was charged with his second DUI in a year on Sunday, May 9. The singer for hair band, Warrant, had blood-alcohol levels in excess of twice the state's legal limit of .08% when he slammed his car into a parked vehicle in Woodland Hills, CA. No injuries were reported, though Lane's car was severely damaged.

The Los Angeles Police Department says that they took Lane into custody after he failed sobriety and breathalyzer tests. Apparently, Lane was arrested by the same officer who arrested him for his DUI last June. In that incident, Lane again hit a parked car and pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor DUI one month later. Lane received three years probation.

Lane saw great commercial success as a singer with rock-band Warrant whose hits include "Down Boys" and "Cherry Pie." In 2005 Lane appeared on VH1's "Celebrity Fit Club." After the show, Lane reunited with his band, only to leave the group again in 2008.
