Felony Stalking Charges Assessed against Jailed Man

By Franklin Law Offices, PLC  Aug. 8, 2013 7:35a

A 32-year-old man who had been recently taken into custody for two previous felonies was charged with a third felony for calls made from jail. The whole incident began in late May when R.D. allegedly broke windows on a car belonging to his ex-wife. His ex called police and reported that her car had been damaged but she hadn't known that R.D. was supposedly involved. Officers found R.D.'s car parked nearby and spotted the man fleeing through a field. He was later apprehended and charged with property damage in the first degree. R.D. was subsequently released on bail. Then, earlier in this month, he was arrested a second time on felony assault charges. Police responded to a complaint made by a man who said that R.D. had called his home and threatened to assault him. Officers found R.D. a few blocks from the home of the man who called police. The third felony charge came while R.D. was being held on the two previous charges. He had allegedly used several of his phone calls at the jail to contact another man and threaten to assault him. Police were notified about the alleged incident and R.D.'s calls from the jail, which are all recorded, were reviewed. After the investigation was recently completed he was charged with felony tampering with a victim. He remains in jail in lieu of $25,000 cash only bond.
