Officers Charge Defendant With Assault And Attempted Rape Of Local Victim

Police say they have arrested a man believed to be responsible for a recent incident in Kansas City, Kansas, involving the abduction and assault of a local woman. Initial reports claim that she escaped through a window and ran to a neighbor's house for help.

The neighbor told law enforcement officials that she was in her house when she saw a bruised and bloodied woman come running towards her home, naked except for a sheet. Screaming for help, the victim was taken to a hospital and received treatment for injuries, including cuts and bruises all over her body. When questioned by police, she described a torturous two days spent in the house next door, suffering assault and attempted rape by the defendant.

According to reports filed by law enforcement, she first met the suspect while at a club. They pair hit it off, and she gave him her number at the end of the evening. She eventually agreed to go out on a date with her alleged attacker later that week.

Man Allegedly Shocked Victim With Electrical Implement

On the night of the date, the victim told police, she was picked up by the man in his car from a relative's house. When they were on their way to dinner, the defendant claimed to have forgotten his credit card and went back to his house. He invited her to come inside while he searched for the missing plastic. Once she went into the house, however, he allegedly locked the door and began punching and kicking her.

After threatening to kill her unless she slept with him, he supposedly duck taped her mouth and jabbed her repeatedly with a stun gun. She claims to have witnessed him taking PCP, an illegal drug. The victim escaped the next day when he left to purchase food.

Authorities say they raided the defendant's house and discovered items of clothing and jewelry belonging to the victim. He is currently in jail with a bail bond of $150,000. Police say they are charging the man with kidnapping, forcible sodomy, and two counts of attempted rape.
