Baltimore Police Man Commits Suicide after being charged with Rape

In Baltimore, Maryland, a former police officer and township official by the name of Michael Johnson Jr. committed suicide today.  Johnson had recently been charged with two separate rape offenses, one in Maryland, and one in Pennsylvania.

Law enforcement officers in York County reported that Johnson took his own life in Albany, New York.  He allegedly shot himself twice in the head with a gun.

Two weeks prior to the suicide, police moved forward with charging Johnson with two separate rape charges after investigations connected him to the brutal sex crimes.

A week before his most recent rape charges, police in Baltimore charged him with a rape that took place this past November.  Johnson allegedly impersonated a police officer to lure his victim, which he then attacked and violated.
