Man Faces Bribery Charges for Rigging Dog Raffle

Police are searching for an Ohio man who allegedly rigged a "desirable dog" raffle in exchange for $200.

The Lorain County Sheriff's Office has issued an arrest warrant for 28-year-old David L. Partin, Jr. Once arrested, Partin will be charged with bribery.

The raffle took place last March at the Lorain County Dog Kennel. When a woman told Partin she loved a long-haired Chihuahua, he told her he would rig the raffle if she would give him $200.

The woman, however, says she thought Partin was joking, so she said she'd give him $200. But when she won the raffle Partin came up to her asking for the money, so she paid him.

County officials became alert to the situation when the woman tried to return the dog to the pound after it bit someone. Much of the transaction between Partin and the woman was caught on security cameras, and Partin was eventually fired from his position at the county-run kennel.  Police are now searching for him.

If Partin is arrested and booked on bribery charges, he stands to face a number of penalties upon conviction, including incarceration, fines, probation, and more.
