Delivery Man Victim of Hit and Run

A delivery man out doing his job was struck violently by a vehicle that then drove away, leaving him in the street. Clark Gettiner was driving up Eighth Avenue when he struck Ricardo Gonzalez, a bike delivery man. Gonzalez flew through the air and skidded twenty feet from where the accident took place, winding up underneath a parked vehicle. The driver responded by fleeing the scene of the crime, turning it into a criminal hit-and-run.

Based on information provided by eyewitnesses to the accident, police were quickly able to locate Gettiner and pull him over. Once stopped the patrol officers were able to see the damage to the front passenger-side windshield; in addition, witnesses positively identified him as the driver. He is now being held on a $50,000 bail. The car was owned by Gettiner's late father.

Hit and run accidents can happen to anyone, anywhere, even if you are being careful on the road.  If you've been charged with hit and run, now is the time to hire a criminal defense lawyer near you.
